Islamabad: Significant progress has been made in the discovery of natural resources at the local level, new gas and oil reserves have been discovered in the Waziristan block of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
12.96 million cubic feet of gas was discovered per day from the Spanwam One well, while 20 barrels of crude oil were also discovered.
Drilling on the Spanwam One well was started on May 28, 2024, the new discovery of gas and oil in the Waziristan block was made by Mari Energies.
According to Mari Energies, Mari Energies is working as the operator company in the Waziristan block. As the operator company, it is a 55% shareholder in the Waziristan block, while OGDCL and OPI are also involved in the joint venture.
Mari Energies says that the new discovery will play an important role in increasing the country’s hydrocarbon resources, the company is committed to further exploration and discovery of new hydrocarbon resources.
The company has appreciated the cooperation of national security agencies, federal and provincial governments for their cooperation.
