Islamabad: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Javed Latif has said that negotiations will not benefit both the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and if there were no efforts to save the accused, the May 9 incidents would have been decided by now.
Senior leader of the Muslim League (N) Javed Latif, while talking to Express News’ program ‘Center Stage’, said that those who have to negotiate do not have such attitudes. I am talking about attitudes from both sides, on one hand they are holding the collar and on the other hand they are holding the feet.
He said that on one hand there is talks and on the other hand there is talk of civil disobedience. How can the government negotiate in such a situation? Negotiations will not benefit both the government and the PTI.
When asked about the demand for the formation of a commission on rigging in the PTI elections, he said that the whole truth should be told, it is not possible to form a commission of one’s own will.
He raised the question whether we had not talked about forming a commission regarding the 2018 elections, whether the commission was formed at that time on our demand, who will form the commission now, who will form the commission on the issue of the 2015 elections, both the elections were separate beneficiaries of 2018 and 2024.
He said that first the result of the 2018 elections will have to be announced, both have different positions, why don’t both the parties take a unanimous decision.
Answering the question of the host of the program, he said that the crime of General (retd) Faiz Hameed is that he planned to overthrow the government, May 9 and the appointment of the army chief in a way that no one has done till date, this is his crime.
He said that people from other parties also continued to benefit.
He raised the question whether Faiz Hameed could have become the army chief himself, it was his plan to bring in a presidential system, it is not possible that Faiz Hameed remained silent, all of them were together, if one is removed and the other two are left, no one will accept such justice.
Javed Latif said that I have never avoided saving anyone or naming names, if there had been no attempt to save the accused, the May 9 incidents would have been decided by now.
