Geneva: The request to become a member of the Palestinian Authority will be considered in the United Nations Security Council today.
According to the Arab media, in the context of Israel’s barbaric bombing and brutality on Gaza, where the ceasefire resolution has been approved in the United Nations Security Council, the request for membership of Palestine is also being considered today.
It should be noted that since 2012, the Palestinian Authority has the status of a non-member observer in the United Nations, but it has not been granted membership. 140 of the 193 member states of the Security Council have recognized Palestine.
On the basis of which it can be said that the Palestinian Authority can get the membership of the United Nations Security Council, but there is also a fear that the request of Palestine will be vetoed.
On the other hand, the world leadership wants to end the rule of Hamas and put Gaza and the West Bank under the administration of the Palestinian Authority for a permanent solution to Palestine, for which negotiations are also ongoing with the ruling Party of the Palestinian Authority.
Seen in this context, the chances of Palestine getting membership of the United Nations Security Council are bright. If this happens, the problems of the oppressed Palestinians can be solved on an emergency basis.
