Makkah-ul-Mukramah: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met in Makkah-ul-Mukramah, in which both leaders stressed on stopping Israel’s illegal actions in Gaza and the unimpeded delivery of aid to Gaza.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is on a visit to Saudi Arabia, yesterday he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Al-Safa Palace in Makkah, an official statement was issued today.
According to the statement, the Saudi Crown Prince congratulated the Prime Minister on assuming office and expressed good wishes in the meeting. Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for the unwavering support and hospitality of Saudi Arabia and reiterated Pakistan’s determination to promote bilateral relations and economic cooperation.
The focus of the discussion between the two leaders was to find ways to further strengthen the brotherly relations between the two countries and increase cooperation in various fields.
In the meeting, Saudi Arabia’s contribution to Pakistan’s economy was appreciated and mutual determination was expressed to increase cooperation between the two countries in terms of business and investment.
The two leaders reiterated their commitment to complete the first phase of the new $5 billion Saudi investment package in Pakistan as soon as possible.
The two leaders also discussed regional and global developments of mutual interest, including the worrisome situation in Gaza. He called for international efforts to stop Israeli military operations in Gaza and reduce human casualties.
Both leaders urged the international community to increase pressure on Israel to desist from its illegal actions and abide by international law.
Both leaders stressed the need for unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza. They discussed relevant Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, as well as the need to advance the Arab Peace Initiative, which aims to establish a just and inclusive Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
