Lahore: The price of LPG has been increased by Rs 30 per kg before the start of Ramadan.
The price of LPG has increased by a total of Rs 53 per kg in a week after which the price of LPG has increased from Rs 257 to Rs 310.
According to Chairman LPG Association Irfan Khokhar, a nexus of LPG quota holders and importers has unjustifiably increased the price of LPG by Rs 30 per kg for the second time in a week without OGRA notification. The official price is 257 rupees per kg while it is sold at 310 rupees per kg in other cities including Lahore and 360 rupees in hilly areas.
He said that after the increase in price, domestic cylinders are being sold at Rs 3700 instead of Rs 3030. Ogra, LPG distributors and shopkeepers are helpless in front of gas mafia. Two big ships of LPG have reached Pakistan while there is a supply of LPG at the border of Pakistan and Iran.
An artificial shortage of LPG has been created across the country. Action should be taken against black marketing companies before Ramadan. Prime Minister Pakistan take immediate notice of rising LPG prices.
