Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser on Information, Barrister Dr. Saif has said in response to the news of torture in Pervez Elahi Adiala Jail that Punjab government’s attitude towards Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in Adiala Jail is alarming.
Barrister Saif said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government demands that their medical team be given permission and access to conduct a medical examination of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, we want to ascertain whether he fell down and was injured or tortured. We are deeply concerned that Maryam Nawaz’s cruel and dictatorial government is torturing political opponents for personal revenge.
He said that we are concerned about the safety and security of PTI founder Parvez Elahi and party leaders and workers in Punjab jail. I want to warn Maryam Nawaz that criminal cases will be filed against you if Parvez Elahi is found to have been tortured.
He said that Maryam Nawaz will be convicted under the international laws of torture under which physical, mental and emotional torture is a crime. If the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa medical team is not given access to Parvez Elahi, we intend to take all kinds of legal action.
