Karachi: In the 26th match of PSL 9, Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by 3 wickets.
In the match played at the National Bank Cricket Stadium, Karachi Kings managed to win their fourth victory and in spite of 5 failures, they managed to maintain their existence in the event by adding 8 points.
On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars, who failed to defend the title, failed for the 7th time in 8 matches, they were limited to 3 points due to only one victory and one match not being decisive.
In the match, Karachi Kings captain Shan Masood won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Lahore Qalandars scored 177 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman 54 and Abdullah Shafiq stood out with 55 runs.
Shai Hope 9, Mirza Baig 4 and Shaheen Afridi scored 1 run, David Vice 24, Sikandar Raza remained not out with 22 runs.
Zahid Mehmood took 2 wickets, Blessing Mazarbani and Anwar Ali took 1 wicket each from Karachi Kings.
In pursuit of the target, Karachi Kings started the innings with Tim Seifert and James Vince. On a total score of 59, James Vince was dismissed for 42 runs.
The second wicket of Karachi Kings fell on a total score of 99 when Shaan Masood was dismissed for 24 runs, after which Kieron Pollard also walked for just 3 runs.
Tim Seifert scored 36 runs, Irfan Khan 35, Anwar Ali returned to the pavilion after scoring 1 run. Shoaib Malik remained not out with 27 runs and Hasan Ali with 3 runs.
