TOKYO: Japan Airlines has announced that it has resolved the disruption to its website, which was caused by a cyber attack yesterday.
The airline has confirmed that the attack did not leak customer data and there was no virus or damage of any kind.
According to the company, the cyber attack began at around 7:30 am yesterday, affecting not only domestic but also international flights.
The attack had suspended the airline’s ticket sales, but this process has now resumed.
Japan Airlines has sincerely apologized to customers and other affected people for the unpleasant situation. The airline has also assured that there was no impact on flight safety.
According to officials, the attack was likely a “DDoS attack”, in which large amounts of data are sent to make websites temporarily inaccessible.
Despite the attack, the airline’s systems have been fully restored and flight activities have returned to normal.
