Tel Aviv: The top commander of Islamic Jihad, an active resistance organization against Israeli occupation in the West Bank, was martyred during a raid by the Zionist Army.
According to Arab media, the Palestinian resistance organization Islamic Jihad has confirmed that one of its top commanders was martyred along with his brothers in a clash with the Israeli army in the Noor Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm.
On the other hand, in a statement issued by the Israeli army, it has been said that 5 armed people were killed on the second day of the military operation in the West Bank, including the militant leader and commander Muhammad Jaber known as Abu Shuja.
On the other hand, the spokesman of the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian Authority said that the number of Palestinians who were martyred in the 2 days of the military operation of the Israeli army in the West Bank reached 12.
On the other hand, eyewitnesses told AFP that the Israeli forces have withdrawn from al-Fara camp in Tubas, where around 10 Palestinians were martyred yesterday.
However, AFP journalists in the affected area reported that clashes between the Israeli army and Islamic Jihad continued in Jenin and that drones were seen flying in the sky, while raids were also underway in Tulkarm.
It should be noted that for the past 2 days, the Israeli army has started operations in the West Bank under the pretext of the presence of fighters, on which Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is returning home after cutting short his visit to Saudi Arabia.
The West Bank is a Palestinian territory that has been occupied by Israel since 1967 and is geographically separated from Gaza and from Israeli territory and administered by the Palestinian Authority.
During the ongoing Gaza war since October 7 last year, the Israeli army and Jewish settlers have been targeting Palestinians in the West Bank, and so far 637 Palestinians have been martyred here, while 19 Israelis, including soldiers, have also been killed.
It should be remembered that the number of Palestinians martyred in Israel’s barbaric bombardment on Gaza alone since October 7 has exceeded 40,500, while 94,000 are injured, half of whom are women and children.
