New York: Israel has been revealed to have used flammable white phosphorus during the attack in Lebanon.
According to the International Organization for Human Rights, Israel used incendiary white phosphorus shells in attacks on residential buildings in five towns and villages in southern Lebanon, which is a violation of international law and a crime.
Human Rights Watch reports that the white phosphorus chemical can burn human flesh and bones and set buildings on fire. The local population has confirmed the use of phosphorus. Various photos and videos on social media show white phosphorus shells falling on residential buildings in different areas of Lebanon.
The Israeli army claimed in a statement that the chemical was only used as a smoke screen and not to target civilians.
