KARACHI: The international media rights of the home series have been sold for around Rs 3 crore.
The Pakistan Cricket Board allocated an unreasonable reserve price of around $21 million for the 3-year international media rights, which no one could even come close to. Willow and Sports Five also participated in the process.
Sports Five gave the highest bid of 7.8 million dollars, Pakistani companies’ bid was around 4.1 million and Willow’s was 2.25 million. When the reserve price did not match, the board held a second round of bidding asking the participating parties to increase the price. In the second round, SportsFive did not increase its previous offer of 7.8 million.
The Pakistani companies almost doubled their offer to 7.85 and won the bid, but the PCB this time rejected all bids as none reached the reserve price, then only the home series from New Zealand and the West Indies. Re-tendering for women’s series
In this, the joint bid of the two Pakistani companies was 99 thousand dollars (about 2 crore 76 lakh rupees), Willow gave a bid of 75 thousand and Sports Five gave a bid of 50 thousand.
It should be remembered that 5 T20 matches between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played from April 18 to April 27 in Rawalpindi and Lahore. 5 T20 matches are scheduled.
