Islamabad: The rate of inflation in February fell below government estimates. On an annual basis, the rate of inflation in February was recorded at 1.52 percent. The government had predicted inflation to be 2 to 3 percent.
According to the monthly report issued by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, inflation decreased by 0.83 percent last month, 1.8 percent in urban areas and 1.1 percent in rural areas. The average inflation rate from July to February was 5.85 percent.
According to the report of the Federal Bureau of Statistics, in the last one month, gram, gram and tea became cheaper by 10 percent, gram flour became cheaper by 9 percent, wheat became cheaper by 3 percent, gram mash became cheaper by 2.82 percent and flour became cheaper by 2.23 percent. The prices of chicken, lentils, lentils, moong, fish, dairy products decreased, fuel, transport services, construction equipment, electricity, and stationery also became cheaper.
Last month, tomatoes became cheaper by 57 percent and onions by 32 percent, potatoes by 20 percent, vegetables by 17 percent, the price of eggs decreased by more than 14 percent, last month fruits became expensive by 15 percent, sugar by 9.35 percent, butter by 5.61 percent, spices by 1.59 percent, bakery items by 1.19 percent, beverages by 1.16 percent, honey by 1.12 percent, edible oil, ghee, meat, rice, ready-made food are also among the expensive items, dry milk, residential facilities, doctor’s fees, mechanical services have also become expensive.
