All 330 helicopters of India’s locally manufactured advanced light helicopter “HAL Dhruv” were grounded after an accident on January 5.
All three Indian forces use them as “donkeys” in transporting military equipment. Now that these helicopters are not available, there has been a serious crisis in the armed forces due to non-timely transportation of equipment.
“Dhruv” works in Indian government and private arms manufacturing companies. These helicopters are a clear proof of the inexperience of Indian experts and the use of low-quality equipment and parts.
These experts often do not have access to local weapons technology and they break down repeatedly. The decision to build “Dhruv” was made in 1984, but as is customary, this project was completed after a delay of twenty years. Since then, 410 of these helicopters have been built and 23 of them have also been destroyed.
El Salvador had bought 7 “Dhru” from India, but they were destroyed in four accidents in a few years. El Salvador got fed up and grounded the “Dhru”. Now even in India, when a single “Dhru” is destroyed, the entire fleet stands still.
The government agency that built it, Hindustan Aeronautics, says that it is not known when the “Dhru” will fly. Billions of rupees of the Indian nation spent on building these helicopters have been wasted. Now the Indian forces will have to buy reliable helicopters from Russia or Israel for transporting goods. In war, the “Dhru” can turn around at the right time by cheating.
It should be remembered that the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex has been building Mushtaq training aircraft since 1981, which are being used by the armies of eleven countries of the world, including Pakistan. Out of the 488 aircraft built in the last forty-four years, only four have been involved in accidents. The remarkable success of this aircraft is a testament to the unparalleled experience and skill of Pakistani experts.
