Srinagar: An Indian Army Major posted on the border of Jammu in Occupied Kashmir ended his life by locking himself in his room and shooting himself.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the family members say that Major Mubarak Singh Pada committed suicide by locking himself in his room in the military base in Jammu region with a government rifle.
According to the family members, Major Mubarak Singh Pada was taken to the hospital but he could not survive. No suicide note was found in his room and he had no mental problems.
The spokesperson of the Indian Army says that an inquiry committee was formed to investigate the incident, which will submit its report within fifteen days.
However, no such inquiry report has ever been made public in the past.
Major Barak Singh Pada belonged to Jalandhar. His body was sent to his native place after necessary operations.
It should be noted that incidents of suicide among Indian soldiers due to low morale and mental stress are common in Occupied Kashmir. According to data collected since 2007, the number of such incidents has exceeded 600.
