New Delhi: Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar has said that his country wants to find a solution to the age-old terrorism problem with Pakistan.
According to Indian media, Subramaniam Jaishankar became the foreign minister for the second time in a row. Speaking to the media after the swearing-in, the veteran foreign minister openly explained his policy on relations with neighboring countries.
The newly elected foreign minister said that on the direction of Prime Minister Modi, the foreign policy in the region has been “neighbour first”, but the nature of the relationship with China and Pakistan was different.
The Indian foreign minister added that we want to find a solution to the age-old terrorism issue with Pakistan, including the issue of infiltration.
It should be noted that this statement of the Indian Foreign Minister has come out when the leaders of the two countries had contacts through social networking websites.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated Modi for forming the government for the third time.
To which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a short reply of “Thank you for your good wishes”.
Regarding relations with China, the Indian foreign minister said that there are some border issues with them and our focus will be on how to resolve them.
It should be remembered that India and China are connected by a 3,800 km border, most of which is poorly demarcated and a war was fought between the two countries in 1962.
Recently, the tension has increased after the implementation of the black law by the Modi government, when the disputed territory of Ladakh was also included in the Indian federation, over which China has been claiming its right of ownership.
Since this black law, there has been a series of clashes between the two countries from time to time. At least 20 Indian and 4 Chinese soldiers have been killed in border clashes between India and China and the number of injured on both sides is much higher.
