E-Court and Facilitation Center inaugurated in Rawalpindi Judicial Complex.
Chief Justice Lahore Malik Shahzad Ahmed inaugurated the e-court and facility center. The Chief Justice along with other judges visited the e-court and watched the hearing of the cases through video link. The Chief Justice also reviewed the conciliation process at the facility.
A guard of honor was presented to Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Malik Shahzad on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony. Rabia Saleem, a female session judge of E-Court, took charge in the court room. Judges of District Judiciary including District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi participated in the inauguration ceremony of e-Court and Facilitation Center. Strict security arrangements were made on this occasion.
All facilities including internet have been provided in the special e-court. In all future places, every court will record the statements of witnesses through video link. Police officers and witnesses will not be given an opportunity not to record their statements as witnesses. All sessions and criminal courts will be linked to the Internet. In important cases, statements and attendance of the accused will also be possible through video link.
Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Abdul Razzaq while addressing the ceremony at the Judicial Complex said that information technology has increased the speed of the world. Fingers will be raised if the judicial system cannot maintain this momentum. Considering this, e-courts have been established across Punjab. Through this, costs and time will be saved. Rawalpindi has been chosen for the ADR centre.
