KARACHI: K Electric CEO Monis Alvi has said that affordable electricity will be included in the electric system in the next 2 years.
In an informal conversation with journalists, K Electric Chief Executive Officer Monis Abdullah Alvi has said that in the next two years, electricity generated from cheap alternative sources will be included in the electric system.
K Electric’s system will add 640 MW of solar and wind energy in the next 2 years. Solar and wind power will significantly reduce the production cost of electricity. So far 40 companies have expressed interest in alternative sources of electricity.
He said that 12 companies from Europe, China and the Middle East have expressed interest in the solar and wind power project. Alternative energy projects will be set up in Balochistan Hub, Othal, Bela, and Sarjani Town in Karachi. More than 400 million dollars are expected to be invested in solar and wind power projects.
