Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has sought a briefing from the FBR on 6 issues.
According to sources, FBR officials will brief the IMF on six issues including new tax measures. The failure of FBR to achieve the tax target for the current financial year, the reasons for the failure of the businessman-friendly scheme will be explained.
In the agenda of the briefing, non-effective implementation of track and trace scheme, slowness in tax collections of provinces, tax collections on salaries, pensions and industry are also included.
IMF officials will also be apprised of the professional performance of FBR sub-offices and measures taken to prevent smuggling.
