Islamabad: The IMF has said that the prices of milk and meat should be deregulated and left on the market.
The IMF has demanded Pakistan to withdraw the authority to fix the price of meat and milk from the Deputy Commissioner and said that the prices of milk and meat should be deregulated and left to the market.
The government has started consultations on the demand of the IMF. Summary of price deregulation will be sent to ECC for approval.
On the other hand, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research has sought consultation on the de-capping of prices. Pakistan Dairy Cattle and Farmers Association has welcomed the efforts to deregulate prices.
