Islamabad: The District and Sessions Courts Islamabad reserved judgment on the appeals against the sentences of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Iddat case.
District and Sessions Judge Shahrukh Arjamand heard the appeals against the convictions of founder PTI and Bushra Bibi in the Duran-i-Idt Nikah case.
Bushra Bibi’s lawyer Usman Riaz Gul argued that this case was filed only for political targeting, Khawarmanika’s complaint was filed after almost 6 years, there is clear malice in the intentions, whether the marriage is fraudulent or not. ? The criminal court does not have the authority to decide, the family court decides regarding the fraudulent marriage or nikah, Bushra Bibi said in her 342 statement that the divorce took place in April 2017 and she completed the period of Iddah and got married. Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas told the facts to the court, on which Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas was transferred the next day.
Judge Shahrukh Arjamand remarked that what can you expect after this? The judge’s sentence caused laughter in the court.
Deputy District Prosecutor Adnan Ali pleaded for the conviction to be upheld, arguing that there is no provision in the law that such cases cannot be tried criminally. Not demanded, but there is a punishment for marrying during Idda.
The prosecutor further said that the founder of PTI was repeatedly interfering in the life of Khawarmanika, Bushra Bibi, due to his interference the house was destroyed.
The court reserved judgment on the appeals against the convictions of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in the Nikah case during Eid, which will be heard on May 29.
