Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar’s interview with the Indian media regarding the Champions Trophy went viral.
In an interview with the Indian media, Shoaib Akhtar said that there will be back-channel talks between the two countries regarding the Champions Trophy, we should not lose hope, but we have to wait for a solution.
Shoaib Akhtar said that we all know the fact that 95 to 96 percent of sponsorship comes from India to the International Cricket Council, which is why the Indian board is also turning a blind eye.
The former fast bowler said that the arrival of the Pakistan and India teams is really in the hands of the governments, no board can do anything, be it the Pakistan Cricket Board or the Indian Cricket Board.
The former cricketer said, “Imagine Virat Kohli coming to Pakistan and playing and scoring a century. Pakistan cannot host a big tournament like the World Cup, but if the Champions Trophy is held, it will be a step towards big events. I still think the Indian team will come to Pakistan.”
