With the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) clashing with the Indian Premier League (IPL), the PCB management started planning to attract big players to the league.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is next scheduled in Pakistan in February and March due to which talks between the franchises and the board are on to move the PSL dates forward.
PCB had proposed to conduct the tournament from April 7 to May 20 to hold the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the governing body meeting yesterday, but the franchises did not give a final answer.
Due to clash with IPL, Pakistan Cricket Board (PSL) management along with franchises will make a list of 6 to 12 players who will be guaranteed participation in the league.
Reports claim that at least 6 players could be signed exclusively for the 10th edition of PSL while the number of players could be 12 to 18.
Foreign players will not be part of the direct drafting process in the event and will be given a platinum category.
These players will be offered around USD 350,000 to USD 400,000 per season which is almost 2 times what a typical platinum player earns in the PSL.
It should be noted that the board is also considering the name of a foreign venue to host the PSL season 10 playoffs.
