The Palestinian resistance organization Hamas carried out a major attack on Israeli soldiers in Gaza, killing 3 soldiers.
According to the Times of Israel, Hamas fired rockets from Rafah at border troops near Kerem Shalom, killing three Israeli soldiers and injuring 11.
Among the dead are Staff Sergeant Ruben Mark Mordechai Asolin, Staff Sergeant Ido Testa, Staff Sergeant Tal Shavit. Thus, the number of soldiers killed during the Israeli operation in Gaza has reached 266.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said 11 more soldiers were wounded, three of them in critical condition, and the death toll is expected to rise. According to the IDF, more than 10 rockets were fired from Rafah in southern Gaza in this attack.
Hamas said in a statement that it fired a burst of short-range rockets at a group of Israeli soldiers on the border near Kerem Shalom. Most of the rockets were fired at an area where troops were massed along the border.
These soldiers were deployed to protect the arms and ammunition brought for the operation in Rafah.
