Mumbai: Despite making anti-Pakistan films, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not issued a ticket to Bollywood star Sunny Deol to contest the 2024 elections.
According to Indian media, on Saturday, March 30, the BJP released its eighth list of Lok Sabha candidates, which included the names of six candidates from Punjab, three from Odisha and two from West Bengal.
The report stated that superstar Sunny Deol, who was earlier elected Member of Assembly from Gurdaspur, was sidelined by Narendra Modi’s party BJP and refused to give him a ticket.
The BJP says that despite being a member of Parliament, Sunny Deol was often absent from Parliament, that is why the party has issued a ticket to Dinesh Singh Babu to contest the election in his place.
Earlier, BJP had issued ticket to Indian actress Kangana Ranaut to contest the Lok Sabha election from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
It should be noted that the schedule of general elections in India has been released, according to which the elections will start on April 19 and the final results will be announced on June 4.
