Paris: The French President made this decision after the victory of the right-wing National Rally Party in the European elections.
According to the news of the World News Agency, President Emmanuel Macron announced early elections, saying that the lower house elections in the country will be held on June 30, while the second phase of the elections will be held on July 7.
The National Rally Party won a landslide victory in the European Parliament elections, according to exit polls, President Emmanuel Macron’s party won 15 percent of the vote, while the right-wing party’s share of the vote was 32 percent.
The Socialist Party won 14 percent of the vote, just 1 percent less than Emmanuel Macron’s party.
The French president acknowledged that the National Rally Party’s historic victory in the elections cannot be ignored.
President Macron further said that the influence of right-wing parties is increasing across Europe, including France, and we need a clear majority to move forward.
In addition to France, right-wing parties have won in the European elections in Austria, Germany and Italy.
The race of the National Rally Party is held by 28-year-old Jordan Bardella, while the leader of the party, Lapin, has indicated in a statement that he will take over the country’s leadership.
