Former national women’s team captain Bisma Maruf has announced her retirement from cricket with immediate effect.

Left-arm batsman Basma Maruf made his ODI debut in 2006 against India and made his T20 debut against Ireland in 2009. She represented Pakistan in 276 international matches which is the most by any Pakistani female cricketer.
He has scored 6,262 international runs, including 33 half-centuries, and has taken 80 international wickets with right-arm leg-spin.
During an illustrious career, Bisma was part of the women’s team that won two gold medals at the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014.
Bisma Maruf also captained the team in 96 international matches, represented Pakistan in 4 editions of the ICC Women’s 50 Overs World Cup (2009, 2013, 2017 and 2022), in the 2022 World Cup in New Zealand. Also led the team.
