Heavy firing has been exchanged between the forces of Pakistan and Afghanistan over the construction of a disputed check post near the Torkham border.
As a result of the exchange of fire, the Torkham border has been closed for all kinds of movement.
Sources said Pakistani forces fired aerial shots to warn the Afghan army against constructing a post a few meters from the border.
Afghan forces retaliated with light weapons, but both sides later resorted to heavy weapons. Markets and government offices were closed due to the firing, and the exchange of fire continued for two hours.
