New York: A female officer sued the US police after her nude photos went viral.
According to a report by the American newspaper New York Post, a female New York police officer has filed a lawsuit against her own department after nude photos sent to her ex-boyfriend 12 years ago went viral.
Alyssa, a 34-year-old female officer, joined the police force in 2012 and began dating fellow officer Lt. Mark Rivera for a few months in 2012, the lawsuit states.
According to the female officer, she sent the nude photos that went viral repeatedly to Lt. Mark Rivera, who allegedly shared her topless photos in a group text with other police officers.
The female officer alleged that some officers pressured her not to file a complaint about the incident and told her that she was not the first or the last woman this had happened to or would happen to.
According to the female officer, her photos were shared in police chat groups and text message chains, including personal information such as her parents’ addresses. Police were unable to trace the people who shared her private photos with their consent. Did it go viral without
The report added that the photos first came to light in April when Alyssa was suspended for obstructing the arrest of her alleged drug-dealing boyfriend, but Alyssa denied that it was hers. The boyfriend was selling drugs.
The NYPD, on the other hand, declined to comment on the matter, saying they do not tolerate discrimination or sexual harassment in any form and that our entire force is committed to a respectful work environment.
