ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to formulate a comprehensive strategy for early recovery of billions of rupees of revenue stuck in legal tax cases pending in various courts.
Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb visited the Federal Board of Revenue headquarters and chaired a meeting to review the performance of FBR in terms of revenue collection.
During the meeting, Chairman FBR gave a detailed briefing to the Federal Minister about the revenue collection efforts of FBR for the current financial year.
The Chairman also informed about the steps being taken for digitization of FBR to further improve its efficiency.
The finance minister called for a strategy to increase the tax-to-GDP ratio and broaden the tax base to maximize revenue collection. The Federal Minister emphasized to make all possible efforts to achieve the revenue collection target for the current financial year.
