Regarding the allegations of rigging in the general elections, the Election Commission has decided to make the inquiry report public.
The inquiry report regarding the allegations of former Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Chatta will be presented in the first commission meeting, the Election Commission will strictly follow the recommendations of the inquiry report.
The Election Commission had set up a one-member committee comprising Sindh member Nisar Durrani for the investigation.
According to the Election Commission, the report contains the statements of district and returning officers, Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Chatta had submitted a written statement to the committee.
It should be noted that former Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatta had announced his resignation from the post, alleging serious irregularities in the elections. Later, the spokesperson ECP and Chief Justice strongly denied the former commissioner’s allegations.
