Lahore: There is a possibility of further increase in the price of electricity by 2 rupees 94 paise per unit, the increase in price will burden the consumers by more than 20 billion rupees in a month.
Power division sources have said that 22 low-cost gas-powered power plants were shut down in March, 13 natural gas-powered plants were shut down last month, and 9 plants powered by imported RLNG remained shut down.
Electricity was also generated from furnace oil last month, the most expensive electricity was imported from Iran at Rs 30 37 paise per unit.
