Abu Dhabi: After heavy rain in 6 states of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), educational institutions were closed today.
According to Arab media, 6 of the 7 states of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, received heavy rain and hail. The Education Department in Dubai and Sharjah has announced a holiday in educational institutions today (Monday).
Emirati authorities have instructed employees of public and private institutions to work from home and citizens not to leave their homes unnecessarily. The Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather alert and predicted more rains.
