Islamabad: The involvement of customs officials in the smuggling of wheat and other essential commodities has been revealed.
The federal government has identified 31 customs officials involved in facilitating the smuggling of wheat and other essential commodities. The Ministry of Interior has sent the list of 31 officials posted in Quetta.
The intelligence report has been shared by the Ministry of Home Affairs with all the provincial governments and Chairman FBR, in which the Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended action to the Chairman FBR. The purpose of sharing the intelligence report is to take necessary action against wheat hoarders.
Sources say that the Ministry of Interior has also shared a list of middlemen and owners of flour mills across Pakistan. Location of warehouses of Vanush essential commodities, list of smugglers and inter-provincial routes, list of officials involved in smuggling, list of corrupt officials, collusion with Balochistan smugglers and Balochistan smugglers involved in sugar smuggling to Afghanistan The list is also shared.
