New Delhi: Hindutva hooligans in India demolished graves inside a historic shrine in Ahmedabad and replaced them with idols.
According to Kashmir Media Service, this incident took place at the 600-year-old Dargah of Imam Shah Baba in the city of Ahmedabad in the Indian state of Gujarat. Extremist Hindus stormed the dargah.
Extremist goons were trying to capture this dargah for a long time by claiming it to be a holy place of Hindus and the attackers desecrated the dargah and demolished the graves and installed idols in the shrine.
On receiving the news of the attack on the Dargah, Muslims gathered in large numbers and tried to stop the desecration of the Dargah. On this occasion, there was a clash with the attackers in which 4 people were injured.
The police arrived late as usual and detained 30 people, including a large number of Muslims.
Since the construction of Ram Mandir in place of Babri Masjid, seizure of historical mosques and dargahs has become a common practice in India and still cases of 3 major historical mosques are pending in court.
