Islamabad: The government will establish 100 new e-employment centers and 10 new software technology parks across the country by the year 2025.
An important meeting regarding Information Technology Parks was held today at Prime Minister House Islamabad under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Talking to the participants of the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the establishment of IT parks is welcome in terms of promoting the country’s growing IT, increasing IT exports and providing facilities to start-ups. He directed that the construction work of Islamabad IT Park should be completed as soon as possible. The Prime Minister also directed to conduct a third party evaluation regarding the performance of software technology parks.
The meeting was given a briefing regarding IT parks by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom. The meeting was informed that the project of Islamabad IT Park will be completed next year with the cooperation of South Korea. Islamabad IT Park will provide startups, incubation centers, banks, restaurants and other facilities. The meeting was informed that the information technology park project near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi with the cooperation of South Korea will be completed by 2027.
The meeting was further informed that 43 software technology parks have been established in 29 cities of the country, 100 new e-employment centers and 10 new software technology parks will be established across the country in 2025.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Finance and Revenue Mohammad Aurangzeb, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecom Shaza Fatima, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Jahanzeb Khan, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal and relevant senior government officials attended the meeting.
