The Punjab government will provide up to 50 percent subsidy per tube well to farmers for converting tube wells to solar system.
According to sources in the Punjab Finance Ministry, the Punjab government has decided to help farmers in shifting tubewells to solar systems across the province.
Farmers will be given all possible help in converting tubewells to solar, for which farmers will be given 12 billion rupees.
According to the sources of Punjab Finance Ministry, every farmer can transfer his tubewell to solar up to 20 KW.
Sources of the Punjab Finance Ministry also say that the Punjab government will give a subsidy of up to 50 percent per tubewell, the purpose of giving the subsidy is to reduce the electricity cost of the farmers.
