Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has revealed that the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) offered him to be the head coach of the Indian team.
Former captain Rahul Dravid’s T20 World Cup is the last assignment as the head coach. Later, a new coach will be appointed in his place, for which the board has also contacted former cricketer Ricky Ponting.
Ricky Ponting, who coached Delhi Capitals in the IPL, said that he is not interested in full-time coaching, but is available for coaching at the franchise level.

“Being the head coach of the national team is a 10- or 11-month job and it doesn’t fit into my lifestyle, which I enjoy,” he said.
Other names to coach the Indian team include Stephen Fleming, Gautam Gambhir, but Ricky Ponting is not ready to take the responsibility as head coach.
