The arrival of the Indian team to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be decided after the general elections in the country.
According to Indian media reports, top officials say that the final decision regarding the departure of the Indian team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 hosted by Pakistan will be taken by the new government.
The newly elected government will announce the next course of action after a meeting with the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI).
In the year 2023, BCCI President Roger Bani and Vice President Rajeev Shukla visited Pakistan to host the Asia Cup, while in the same year Pakistan sent its team to Pakistan for the World Cup.
It should be noted that the general elections are going on in India which will end in the first week of June next month, after which the newly elected government will decide.
On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi says that he is determined to hold the tournament while the schedule has also been sent to the teams.
According to the proposed schedule, the Champions Trophy matches will be held in three venues of Pakistan, Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, while the proposal to hold all the matches in Lahore due to security issues and limiting the movement of the Indian team is also under consideration.
