Indian media once again became active in campaigning against Pakistan cricket regarding the hosting of ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Indian local media barred the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) official and said that the bilateral series should be canceled and the Indian team will not go to Pakistan even to play the ICC Champions Trophy. However, there could be an alternative venue or a hybrid model like the Asia Cup for the ICC Champions Trophy.
The official has justified that the team’s playing in Pakistan is subject to the permission of the government as usual, at this time the relations between the two countries are not good to allow the Indian team to play in Pakistan.
Due to the elections in India, the BJP government is giving such statements so that it can benefit them and get votes for anti-Pakistan statements, however, Pakistan is firm on its position regarding the hosting of the Champions Trophy.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, while talking about the possible series with India, said that India can play a bilateral series with India if the board agrees, but before that they have to come to Pakistan and participate in the mega event.
It should be noted that the ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled in Pakistan in February next year, the Indian team did not visit Pakistan even for the Asia Cup, while India played its matches in Sri Lanka.
