Karachi: The Special Settlement Council was challenged in the Sindh High Court.
Sohail Hameed advocate has taken the stand in the petition filed that the council created to promote investment is a violation of the constitution. It is a violation of Articles 90 and 97 of the Constitution, the Constitution has said that the powers of federation can only be exercised by the federal government, the powers of federation cannot be exercised by provincial chief ministers or any other officer.
In the application Federation of Pakistan, Secretary Cabinet. Secretary Law and Secretary Finance have been made parties, apart from this, Tehreek-e-Insaf approached the Sindh High Court for the permission of the rally.
In the application filed through Barrister Ali Tahir, the position has been adopted that we want to hold a rally near Mazar-e-Quaid on April 28. It is a democratic right, the Commissioner Karachi and DC South should be directed to provide security along with permission for the rally, a hearing on the application is expected on Friday, April 5.
