Dhaka: The Bangladesh Army Chief has said that the interim government will be sworn in today under the leadership of Nobel laureate Muhammad Younis.
According to a foreign news agency, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-ul-Zaman has said that the 15-member team under the leadership of Mohammad Younis will take oath by today (Thursday) evening.
It should be noted that General Waqar-ul-Zaman announced the formation of an interim government on Monday after the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid and her departure to India as a result of the protests that have been going on for several weeks in the country.
According to the report, 400 people were killed during the protest against Sheikh Hasina Wajid in Bangladesh.
A foreign news agency said that the expected head of the new government, Mohammad Yunus, will return home from France on Thursday.
It should be remembered that Muhammad Yunus congratulated the students who protested against Sheikh Hasina Wajid and called it the second victory of the country.
He said that we should improve our new victory and not let it be wasted by our mistakes. Dr. Younis requested the public to exercise restraint and avoid tension.
Muhammad Yunus had emphasized to avoid such tension which would result in the loss of the country.
