Dhaka: Leaders of the Student Movement Against Quota System and Discrimination have given an ultimatum to President Muhammad Shahabuddin to dissolve Parliament by 3 pm today, August 6.
According to the international news agency, the coordinator of the student movement, Naheed Islam, demanded the president to dissolve the parliament in a video message recorded by two of his colleagues.
The video statement said that President Shahabuddin had said yesterday, Monday, August 5, that the National Parliament would be dissolved immediately, but no order had been issued after 24 hours had passed.
Naheed Islam said that the students are still on the streets and we give an ultimatum to President Shahabuddin to dissolve the parliament by 3 pm today or else he will be forced to resume the protest.
Earlier, the leader of Talaba Tehreek, Naheed Islam, in a video message on Tuesday morning, also demanded the appointment of Nobel Prize winning economist Prof. Muhammad Younis as the chief advisor of the interim government.
