Former national team director and captain Muhammad Hafeez expressed his opinion on the ability of wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan to play international cricket.
Speaking on a local TV channel, former cricketer Muhammad Hafeez said that wicketkeeper batsman Azam Khan needs to work on his fitness, the entire Pakistani team can cover a distance of 2 kilometers in 10 minutes, while Azam Khan can cover this distance. It will take 20 minutes to settle.
He said that it is a pity that Azam Khan is not serious about playing international cricket.
The former cricketer said that being thin or underweight is not a problem but you have to adapt yourself to the game, as a team director had made a plan but Azam Khan could not adjust.
Muhammad Hafeez said that you are in the team because of your skills but you have to answer in terms of fitness. You are the only one in the team whose fitness is questionable.
It should be noted that Azam Khan failed to show any impressive performance in the opening matches of England tour and T20 World Cup due to which he was dropped from the playing XI.
