Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, implementing the decisions of the Apex Committee, has stopped assistance to Kurram victims until the miscreants who opened fire on DC Kurram are handed over.
According to sources, those who do not cooperate with the government and hand over the individuals involved in the DC Kurram incident to the government will not get assistance. The jirga directed the elders to start work to collect weapons in Kurram within fifteen days.
According to sources, the weapons will be collected under the supervision of the administration, while bunkers in Kurram will be eliminated by February 1 and 48 check posts will be established from Tall to Hangu, while a Tahafuz Security Force consisting of 399 ex-servicemen will also be established.
Sources say that the survey of victims in Kurram, including Bagan, is almost complete. In addition, one more accused in the DC Kurram attack incident has been arrested, while three out of the five accused identified in the attack case have been arrested.
Implementing the decision of the Apex Committee, a curfew has been imposed on the Parachinar Highway from 6 am to 6 pm to prevent any kind of mischief in Kurram, with the aim of securing the routes for the movement of convoys.
The new Deputy Commissioner Kurram Muhammad Ashfaq has taken charge, while strict security measures have been initiated in the tribal district of Kurram with the imposition of Section 144 and curfew.
