RIYADH: Roads around holy places will be kept cool during Hajj.
According to the official news agency of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Road Authority has arranged to keep the roads around the holy places cool during the Hajj with the help of modern technology. Asphalt surface cooling techniques will also be used to moderate temperatures in waiting areas and high-traffic areas.
An area of 25,000 square meters around Nimra Mosque in Arafat will be kept cool with the help of this technique. The campaign to keep the streets cool was launched last year. Officials say that during summers and especially on Hajj days, there is an extraordinary heat due to heavy rush and the roads absorb this heat due to which the temperature sometimes reaches 70 degree Celsius. It is important to keep cool.
