New Delhi: An officer of the Central Reserve Police Force in India ended his life by hanging from the ceiling.
According to Indian media, this incident took place in an army base in the state of Madhya Pradesh, where the door was locked from inside when fellow officers went to the room of the Central Reserve Police Force officer to find out the reason for his absence from duty.
Colleagues entered after breaking the door and found the soldier hanging from the ceiling. A doctor was called who confirmed the death and said that the official died due to suffocation due to the noose.
The officer who committed suicide was identified as 35-year-old Kailash Chandra Mehra, but the reason for the suicide was not known. An inquiry committee was constituted for the investigation.
It should be noted that there is a high tendency of suicide among military personnel due to low morale, mental stress and misbehavior of officers in India, on which the Ministry of Defense had also issued a warning note.
