Rawalpindi: The pardon of 19 convicts of the May 9, 2023 tragedy has been announced.
During the execution of the sentences of the May 9 tragedy, the convicts filed mercy and pardon petitions using their legal rights. A total of 67 convicts filed mercy petitions.
According to the report, 48 petitioners were sent for review in the “Courts of Appeal” for legal action, and the petitions of 19 convicts were approved in accordance with the law on purely humanitarian grounds.
