Mumbai: After Bollywood Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan’s film ‘Lal Singh Chadha’, his son Junaid’s debut film ‘Maharaj’ also came under the target of Hindu extremists.
According to Indian media, youth wing Bajrang Dal of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has written letters to Yash Raj Films and Netflix officials against the release of the film.
The letters written by the Hindu extremist organization have demanded that the film be shown to the organization before its streaming on June 14 as the film may hurt religious sentiments.
Bajrang Dal has threatened that after watching the film, the organization will decide what action to take against the film and if the film is released without screening, the law and order situation may deteriorate.
The film ‘Maharaja’ is produced under the production house Yash Raj Films and is produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Siddharth Malhotra.
It should be noted that Junaid Khan was preparing for four years to enter the film industry and the shooting of the film was completed in October last year.
