Pakistani actor Asim Mehmood has raised his voice to stop dowry and other expenses of girls in marriage.
In his posts on the social networking site Instagram, the actor described the situation of a girl’s family and told how much expenses are incurred on the daughter’s wedding.
He said that in order to end the prevailing rituals in the society, the girls have to send dowry of 30 lakhs, food worth 5 lakhs, bride’s watch, ring, breakfast on the day of the wedding, in-laws’ clothes along with the daughter.
The actor wrote that when the bride and groom are taking the procession back, they also send food to the processionists on their way back.
Asim Mahmood mentioned all these expenses and raised the question that ‘Is there a daughter or is there any punishment?’
