KARACHI: Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan had organized a special prayer for its activist Aamir Aziz, who was killed in firing on October 13, but the situation worsened when TLP Karachi Ameer Mufti Qasim Fakhri and other leaders were taken to Karachi by the police. He was detained near the press club.
According to a Tribune report, after the arrest of the TLP leaders, TLP workers staged a massive protest at Regal Chowk, which led to heavy traffic jams in the surrounding areas.
According to the Tribune, the protesters blocked roads by burning tires and started shouting slogans. The police resorted to lathi-charge and shelling to disperse the protesters, which dispersed the protesters but not before the nearby markets were closed and panic spread across the city.
Police officials said that no one is allowed to protest under Section 144. During this protest, a lady police officer was injured after falling from a police mobile and was hit by another police vehicle.
